The 2023 Championship season has started off with a bang!! Many eager beavers ventured out west to claim points for in there respective class for the coming year. There were some old faces but also many new faces that were ready to stake their claim and a piece of silverware.

Tamiya

2022 club champ, Aaron, picked up from where he left off and dominated the day with 4 wins but was pushed hard by a new driver who is a very competent rock crawling driver but has decided to give this onroad thingy racing a go, Scott (Scoot Scoot) drove really well and hounded Aaron in all the races with four 2nd's. Paul drove really well and took 3rd place.

1st - Aaron Morris

2nd -Scott Rutherford

3rd-Paul Iverson

Mini

It was a small field of Mini's but never the less the racing was super close between Gary and young Jaxon. At the end of the day both drivers were square on 297 points and each had two wins and 2 2nds each so Mr Tie-Breaker was called in to adjudicate with honors going to Gary followed by Jaxon.

Kyosho

The Kyosho class has continued to grow in popularity so much so that we have had to split it up into: Juniors, Novice and Pro. The racing is very close in each class as it comes down to nerve and concentration.

Juniors

Its always fun to see the juniors race, the thrill and excitement in there eyes, the innocent joys. 12 year old Jaxon & young gun Max had great racing between them but it was Jaxon that took the win and the Dixon sisters were tied for 3rd

1st- Jaxon Durbidge

2nd- Max Boxer

3rd- Charlie & Natalie Dixon

Novice

Scoot Scoots father, David, has only been racing for a few months but has picked it up quickly and dominated with 4 wins, Paul finished 3rd and Jase 3rd.

1st - David Rutherford

2nd - Paul Iverson

3rd - Jase jury.

Pro

It was a great battle between long time racer Ron and newbie Roger, they were trading places and each had two 1sts and two 2nds and they were tied on 297 points and it was the yellow Lambo of Roger taking the win over Rons Bugatti. Paul boxer was hanging in the shadows ready to pounce if the 2 lead drivers made an error.

1st - Roger Fong

2nd - Ron Maya

3rd - Paul Boxer

TCR FWD

The ever fun TCR class was dominated by Nic who took 3 wins but suffered an oversteer problem thanks to de-glued front tyres. Shane came in 2nd and Grant 3rd

1st - Nic Michaelides

2nd -Shane Ricketts

3rd - Grant Davies

ITSC 21.5

There was a strong field of 8 in this class but Roger and Paul lead the charge and had a ding dong battle for the lead but it was Roger who prevailed winning 3 of the 4 rounds and Paul taking the other win. Shane Ricketts came in 3rd.

1st- Roger Fong

ITSC 13.5

Another solid showing the the 13.5 guys as 7 drivers took to the track for honors. Joel showed huge pace in the quali but Ron decided to pull some magic and dominated in round 1 taking the win, Joel played with his setup and tyre prep and gained the edge on Ron and the rest of the field to take 1st in the 3 remaining rounds. He also broke the track record by completing 26 laps in R3. Jamie came in 3rd.
