GRCR Transponder Guide
A Guide to Transponders
To race or hear your practice times at GRCR, your car needs a transponder. This is a small electronic "tag" that tells our MYLAPS RC4 timing system exactly when you cross the finish line. Without one, the computer can’t track your laps or your race position!
Which Transponder Should You Buy?
GRCR uses the latest RC4 Decoder, so only newer, RC4 compatible transponders will work;
Important Note:
Avoid buying second-hand "AMBrc" or "RC2" transponders as our system may not recognise these older models.
Transponder installation Guide
1. Plug it in
The transponder plugs into any open port on your Receiver (RX). It draws a tiny amount of power from your car’s battery. It will flash red when connected and the car is powered on.
2. Mount it low
For the best accuracy, mount the transponder as low as possible in your chassis (usually with double-sided servo tape). For best results mount it flat not sideways.
3. Avoid Blocking the Signal
Try to ensure there isn't thick carbon fibre or metal directly between the transponder and the ground, as this can "block" the signal to the track's timing loop.
Registering Your Number
Every transponder has a unique 7-digit number. When you register for an event onlarrive at the track, tell our race director your number so they can assign it to your name in the LiveTime software.
