Geelong Radio Control Car Club Incorporated Membership Terms

​

I agree to be bound by the rules and regulations of the event and the provisions of the Geelong Radio Control Car Club Inc.

In exchange for being able to attend or participate in the event, I agree:

  • To release GRCCC promoters, sponsor organizations, land owners and leasees, organizers of the event, their respective servants, officials, representatives and agents (collectively, the Associated Entities”) from all liability for my death, personal injury (including burns), psychological trauma, loss or damage (including property damage) (“harm”) howsoever arising from my participation in or attendance at the event, except to the extent prohibited by law.

  • That GRCCC and the Associated Entities do not make any warranty, implied or expressed, that the event services will be provided with due care and skill or that any materials provided in connection with the services will be fit for the purpose for which they are supplied; and

  • To attend or participate in the event at my own risk.

  • I/We acknowledge that:

    • The risks associated with attending or participating in the event include the risk that I may suffer harm as a result of:

    • Remotely controlled scale models (or parts of them) colliding with other scale models, persons or property;

    • Acts of violence and other harmful acts (whether intentional or inadvertent) committed by persons attending or participating in the event; and

    • The failure or unsuitability of facilities (including grandstands, fences and guard rails) to ensure the safety of persons or property at the event.

  • Motor sport is dangerous and that accidents causing harm can and do happen and may happen to me.

  • Memberships entitle one, singular vote at any Annual General Meetings or General Meetings.

  • I accept the conditions of, and acknowledge the risks arising from, attending or participating in events being provided by the Geelong Radio Control Car Club Inc

Geelong Radio Control Car Club Incorporated Code of Conduct

​

​This Code of Conduct aligns with the principles and expectations of RCRA and general sporting club governance standards. All members, officials, competitors, volunteers, and visitors are expected to comply.

 

1. Duty of Care and Safety

GRCR is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment.


Safety is the Club’s highest priority.

All persons entering the facility must:

  • Wear enclosed footwear at all times. Thongs, sandals, or open-toed footwear are not permitted.

  • Remain within designated spectator, pit, and driver areas during track activity.

  • Comply with all reasonable directions given by GRCR Committee members, Race Officials, and appointed marshals.

  • Conduct themselves in a manner that does not endanger themselves or others.

 

2. Behaviour, Integrity, and Respect

GRCR expects all participants to uphold the values of fairness, integrity, respect, and good sportsmanship.

Unacceptable behaviour includes, but is not limited to:

  • Abusive, threatening, or offensive language or conduct.

  • Discrimination, harassment, or vilification on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic.

  • Physical intimidation or inappropriate invasion of personal space.

  • Consumption or possession of alcohol or illicit substances while participating in, officiating, or attending club activities.

  • Theft, fraud, or misuse of club or personal property.

  • Conduct that brings the Club, the sport, or RCRA–aligned activities into disrepute.

 

3. Complaints, Discipline, and Sanctions

Complaints may be raised verbally or in writing with the GRCR Committee.

All complaints will be managed confidentially, fairly, and in accordance with natural justice principles.

The Committee may investigate and determine appropriate outcomes.

 

Possible sanctions include:

  • Verbal or written warnings

  • Loss of points or race penalties

  • Race or meeting disqualification

  • Suspension or cancellation of membership

  • Club bans or restrictions on participation

 

The Committee’s decision is final.

4. Social Media and Electronic Communication

GRCR social media platforms (including Facebook and WhatsApp) are extensions of the Club environment and must be used responsibly.

  • Content must relate to club activities or RC racing matters.

  • Posts must not be offensive, defamatory, intimidating, or harassing toward any individual or organisation.

  • Content of a sexual, racial, political, or religious nature is prohibited.

  • Members must respect privacy and confidentiality and must not publish images or information without consent.

  • Communication involving persons under 18 years of age requires the express permission of a parent or legal guardian.

 

5. Club Facilities and Access

Access to GRCR facilities is a privilege granted to members.

​

Members must:

  • Keep GRCR access codes secure and not share them with non-members.

  • Ensure facilities are left in a safe and secure condition when departing, including:

  • Turning off all lights

  • Lock all doors and the toilets

  • Vacate GRCR and Beckley Park when the main gates are closed between 11:00 pm and 6:30 am daily.

 

6. Race Entry and Participation

  • Race entries may be submitted via the GRCR website or at the track on race day.

  • Race fees must be paid at the time of entry.

  • All competitors must be appropriately prepared and present when called to race.

 

7. Racing Conduct and Officials’ Authority

All competitors must comply with instructions issued by the Race Director and timing system announcements.

  • Races will not be paused due to driver or vehicle readiness.

  • Drivers must remain on the driver’s stand during races unless instructed otherwise.

 

Unsportsmanlike conduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • Deliberate blocking, contact, or reckless driving.

  • Causing avoidable incidents that disadvantage other competitors.

  • Gaining or attempting to gain an unfair advantage.

  • Failure to redress an illegal or unsafe manoeuvre.

  • Inappropriate behaviour on the driver’s stand or in pit areas.

 

The Race Director has full authority to apply penalties, including:

  • Warnings

  • Penalty box time

  • Race disqualification

  • Meeting disqualification

 

8. Post‑Race and Marshalling Responsibilities

  • After their race drivers must return vehicles to parc fermé and marshal the folowing race.

  • Marshals are responsible for track safety only and must not repair vehicles.

  • Driveable cars should be placed back on their wheels promptly and safely.

  • Undriveable cars must be removed from the racing surface and placed safely for collection after the race.

  • Pit crew members may retrieve or repair cars during a race only in a safe location away from the track and marshals.

 

9. Acknowledgement

By attending or participating in GRCR activities, all individuals acknowledge and agree to comply with this Code of Conduct.
