Geelong RC Racers, invites Teams to compete in the 2025 2.4 Hours of Geelong.
This innaugural endurance race celebrates the great history of 24 Hour Racing in 1/10 scale!

10 Teams of 3-4 drivers will compete in a race against the clock using 1 x GT 17.5, 1 x ISTC 21.5, 1 x TCR & 1 x Kyosho Fazer in relay to cover as much ground as possible.

The 2.4 Hours of Geelong is single day event on Monday the the 9th of June.
 

Monday 9th June

  • 7:00am facility opens - track is open for practice.

  • 9:00am Drivers Briefing

  • 9:15am Support Races - 3 x Heads Up Heats

  • 11:00am Geelong 2.4hr Seeding

  • 11.45am Geelong 2.4hr Super Pole

  • 12:30pm Geelong 2.4hr Endurance Race

  • 3:00pm Presentations

 

GRCR reserves the right to amend the schedule, however changes will be communicated to racers.

Event Coverage

Event timing will be available via the GRCR LiveTime site.

 

2.4 Hours of Geelong Team Cars and rules;

  • 1 x Kyosho Fazer

  • 1 x TCR

  • 1 x ISTC 21.5

  • 1 x GT 17.5

  • Each car needs to comply with the club class rules.

  • Run as a relay race where teams have one car and driver in the race at a time.

  • Each team car will have a separate transponder that linked under the Team Name.

  • Each car must do a minimum of 30 minutes running during the event.

  • Each driver must do a minimum of 30 minutes running during the event.

  • There will be a check in/out desk table to the drivers stand where teams can swap cars and drivers into and out of the race.

  • Each team will be allocated one number that is to be applied to all team cars.

  • Each team must supply 1 marshal at a designated point at all times. Failure to do so will incur a penalty

  • Drivers can drive any team car during the event, but the time limits must be adhered to

  • There will be mixed classes on track together!!

  • All pitting should be done in the pit area, there is no need for fast battery swaps!

  • If a team car is unable to complete its minimum run time due to failure or accident damage;

    1. it can be replaced with another chassis of the same class with the same transponder to complete the minimum run time OR

    2. in the event there are no replacement cars available, the team can continue with their remaining cars but will incur a 10 minute stop/go penalty.

  • Teams are encouraged to paint their cars in a matching team livery.

Tyre Rules

  • ISTC 21.5, GT 17.5, TCR

    • TCR wheels must be spoked.

    • 24mm rubber tyres, open compound, open inserts.

    • Slicks and treaded tyres are both legal.

    • Tyre cleaner permitted.

    • Tyre warmers permitted.

    • Tyre additive permitted.

  • Kyosho Fazer

    • Volante 32R Radial #V9XE-FWDPG32RSP

    • Tyre cleaner permitted.

    • Tyre warmers are NOT permitted.

    • Tyre additive is NOT permitted.

Support Categories

In the morning we will feature 3 x Heads Up Heats for classes.

Also we are open to running any of our regular classes if you want to bring a car down!

 

Battery rules

  • Batteries need to be ROAR approved

  • Battery discharging limited to 10 Amps

  • Battery charging limited to 10 Amps

  • LIPO Sacks are mandatory

  • No external heating of batteries

Transponders

MyLaps and AMBrc transponders are supported.
MRT mPTX personal transponders are supported.

Entries

  • Entries for the enduro and support classes will be capped at 10.

  • Entries close Friday 6th June at 6pm.

 

Race Fees

  • Team entry for the 2.4 hour enduro is $80

  • Support classes are $15 per entry

Trophies

Trophies will be warded for the first three place getters in the 2.4 hour enduro.

Medals will be awarded for the first three place getters in each support category

 

Pitting

GRCR Platinum Members will be given 1 priority pit spot inside the clubrooms.
Interstate competitors will be given priority pitting along the back straight.

We will advise racers closer to the event if marquees will be required to pit outside.

 

Catering​

  • Egg & bacon rolls will be available for breakfast on Monday.

  • Sausages and hamburgers will be available for lunch on Monday.

  • Soft Drinks and Water will be available for purchase all event.

 

Event Rules

Technical regulations:

  • All cars will be subject to weight and measure checks.

  • Battery voltage will be measured randomly

  • Any commercially available motor for the class can be used.
