Welcome to the 2026 Hobbies Direct Geelong Challenge Cup!
​

Our premier event hits July—bringing fast, all-weather racing to the heart of winter.
Take on four qualifiers across two days, with your best two results locking in the grid for Sunday’s triple finals. Race Sunday only or go all-in for the full weekend!

Saturday 11th July
  • 12:00pm Facility Opens - Tyres available for collection, Scrutineering open

  • 12:00pm Open Practice

  • 2:30pm Driver's briefing

  • 2:45pm Qualifying Rounds x 2

  • 5:45pm Facility Closed - Tyres returned to Scrutineering

Sunday 12th July
  • 7:00am Facility Opens - Tyres available for collection

  • 7:30am Driver's Briefing & Concourse Display

  • 8:00am Seeding Round (1 x 3min practice per class)

  • 9:00am Qualifying Rounds x 2

  • Lunch Break

  • 12.15pm Finals (3 x 5min)

  • 4:30pm Presentations & Raffle Draw

Event Classes​

To encourage clean racing, the 2026 Geelong Challenge Cup features an 8 car grid capacity for Touring Car Classes. This may be extended to 10 at the organisers discretion.​​​​​​​​

 

This year the Over 50's 17.5 Class is for Hypercar bodies ONLY.

Entry Conditions

  • Entries open June 8th and close July 6th.

  • GRCR Members are eligible for ONE FREE Entry to the 2026 GCC

  • 21.5 Junior entry is FREE, all other entry tickets are $25

  • 21.5 Junior is open to competitors aged 14 and under.

  • Drivers may enter a maximum of 3 classes each.

  • Drivers may not cross-enter ISTC 21.5 and ISTC 13.5 classes.

  • Entry fees will be refunded if the class or event is cancelled.

  • Trophies will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, TQ and Concourse in each class.

  • Classes with less than 4 entries may be cancelled.

  • Place your name on the Reserve List for full classes

Tyre Regulations​

​

Event Control Tyres
  • Volante Control Tyres are for available from the GRCR webshop.

  • Control tyres will be distributed on Saturday and Sunday mornings from scrutineering.

  • Control tyres must be returned to scrutineering on Saturday before track close.​

  • 1/12 Stock are open.

  • VTA tyres as per GRCR VTA rules.

​

Event Cleaner & Additive
  • RC Maker Dominate Tyre Cleaner is the nominated cleaner for the event.

  • TDK Edge is the only additive allowed in the ISTC, TCR and GT classes. 

  • TDK Edge must be applied at the nominated gooping station.

  • Entrants can purchase TDK Edge with their practice tyres or at the track from Friday.

  • 1/12 Stock and VTA additive is open.

Tyre Warmers
  • May be used for all classes except Kyosho Fazer.

​

Practice Tyres

Practice Tyres may be used for practice sessions and Sunday Seeding.

They can be purchased from the GRCR webshop, one of our sponsors, or trackside from Saturday.

Battery Regulations

As with all events at GRCR, we expect competitors to abide by our battery rules.

Scrutineering

  • All cars will be subject to weight and measure checks.

  • Battery voltage and temperature will be measured randomly.

  • Any commercially available motor for the class can be used.
