Welcome to the 2025 Hobbies Direct Geelong Challenge Cup!
​
This year we are excited to introduce a progressive race format on Sunday where each driver will start in the position they finished the previous heat. Of the four finals on Sunday, the best three will determine your final position.

Event Schedule

Friday 5th December

Saturday 7th December
- 
7:00am Facility Opens - Tyres available for collection, Scrutineering open 
- 
7:30am Open Practice 
- 
9:00am Driver's briefing & concourse display 
- 
9.30am Qualifying Rounds x 4 (best of 3, regrade after 2) 
- 
5:00pm Track Closed - Tyres returned to Scrutineering

Sunday 8th December
- 
7:00am Facility Opens - Tyres available for collection 
- 
7:30am Sunday Warm Up (1 x 3min practice per class) 
- 
8:30am Driver's Briefing 
- 
8:45am Finals (4 x 5min Heads Up Progressive, start where you finished) 
- 
3:30pm Presentations & Raffle Draw 
GRCR reserves the right to amend the schedule, however changes will be communicated to racers.

Event Classes​
To encourage clean racing, the 2025 Geelong Challenge Cup features an 8 car grid capacity for Touring Car Classes. This may be extended to 10 at the organisers discretion.​​​​​​​​

2025 Hobbies Direct Geelong Challenge Cup Merchandise
Entry Conditions
- 
Entries open Wednesday the 5th of November and close Thursday the 4th of December. 
- 
Classes with less than 4 entries may be cancelled. 
- 
Drivers may enter a maximum of 3 classes each. 
- 
Drivers may not cross-enter 21.5 and 13.5 ISTC classes. 
- 
Kyosho Novice is limited to junior (14 and under) and novice competitors. 
- 
Each class entry price includes your control tyres ($35 entry fee + $45 per tyre set). 
- 
GRCR Platinum Members receive a discount of $17.50 on their first entry fee. 
- 
Entry fees will be refunded if the class or event is cancelled.​ 
- 
Trophies will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Top Qualifier of each class.​ 
- 
Trophies will be awarded for Concourse in each class. 
​
Tyre Regulations​
​
Event Control Tyres
- 
Volante Control Tyres for the event are included in your entry price. 
- 
Control tyres will be distributed on Saturday and Sunday mornings from scrutineering. 
- 
Control tyres must be returned to scrutineering on Saturday before track close.​ 
- 
1/12 Stock and Tamiya tyres are open. 
- 
VTA tyres as per GRCR VTA rules. 
​
Event Cleaner & Additive
- 
RC Maker Dominate Tyre Cleaner is the nominated cleaner for the event. 
- 
TDK Edge is the only additive allowed in the ISTC, TCR and GT classes. 
- 
Entrants can purchase TDK Edge with their control tyres or at the track from Friday. 
- 
TDK Edge may be applied at your pit, but must remain in the original bottle. 
- 
1/12 Stock and VTA additive is open. 
​
Tyre Warmers
- 
May be used for all classes except Tamiya, Kyosho Novice & Kyosho Pro. 
​
Practice Tyres
Practice Tyres may be used for practice sessions and Sunday Warm Up.
They can be purchased from the GRCR webshop, one of our sponsors, or trackside from Friday.

Battery Regulations
As with all events at GRCR, we expect competitors to abide by our battery rules.

Scrutineering
- 
All cars will be subject to weight and measure checks. 
- 
Battery voltage and temperature will be measured randomly. 
- 
Any commercially available motor for the class can be used.
